Hodgepodge Cottage, inc.
Julia, Beekeeper
Established in Newark, Ohio in 2009, Hodgepodge Cottage is
the 70 year old home I share with my two cats, Evie and Molly.
Librarian by trade and eclectic by nature, I like to be exposed
to a little bit of everything and am always excited to learn! Other
words used to describe me-- Bibliomaniac, Wholockian, Potterhead,
Hoosier (go IU!), Happy and Blessed.
After learning about colony collapse and the ongoing plight of the
honeybee, I felt called to save the world one honeybee at a time
and to educate as many people as possible about the vital role
bees play in our daily lives. Under the guidance of my friend and beekeeper Michael Duncan,
I established my first hive, The Wordy House, in 2011. The second hive, Honey Plantation,
followed in June of 2012. My third hive, Beeazzlebuzz Manor, was installed at the Central
Christian Church lodge in June 2013. You can read more about my hives and keep up to date
with our (mis)adventures by clicking above.
Proverbs 16:24--"Pleasant words are like honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health
to the bones." Be kind to one another and be kind to the bees!
